Coversourcing

It’s competition time yet again and this time it’s to design a book cover for the upcoming title ‘Crowdsourcing’ by Jeff Howe. I’m planning to submit one of my design ideas to this very soon as entries to the competition are to close on the 10th of February – not long, I know…
Howe defines Crowdsourcing as “the act of taking a job traditionally performed by a designated agent (usually an employee) and outsourcing it to an undefined, generally large group of people in the form of an open call”.

Nike+

Nikeplus3miles

I purchased my Nike+ kit a few months back and hardly touched it for the first month or two mainly because I was so intimidated by it and running on a treadmill (evil, evil machine) I decided to bite the bullet and enter a few small challenges with a friend. Turns out running is quite addictive, especially with the motivation of not wanting to finish last in your challenge.

Today I managed complete my very first 3 mile run outdoors – not locked away inside a gym – it was great. Running outside gives you much more freedom and room that the gym just can’t give you. On top of that, I’m also glad to report that it was much easier. In fact, I think I could have ran a further mile or so. Maybe I’ll try that next week.
